Master resell rights products (MRR) are digital files you can buy and sell. They include things like templates, eBooks, social media kits, and stock photos. These products come with a special license that lets you resell them to your own customers. You can keep 100% of the profit from your sales. In some cases, you can give your customers the same resell rights and allow them to edit or rebrand the products.
That’s the textbook definition. Here’s what nobody tells you: buying an MRR product is the easy part. Making real money with MRR is where many people struggle.
I’ve shared my own start with this on the blog before, so I won’t repeat the whole story here. Instead, I want to focus on the part almost nobody talks about: how to actually make MRR work instead of just owning a folder of PDFs.

Is MRR a scam? My honest take
You’ve probably seen people calling MRR a red flag. And honestly, some of the criticism makes sense. Many people buy MRR products and sell them exactly as they are, which creates a market full of identical products.
And, yes, not every MRR product allows you to rebrand it. You need to find sellers who give you permission to edit, customize, and sell the product your own way.
Where I disagree is the conclusion people jump to. MRR itself is not the problem. The problem starts when people do not think outside the box, use the same keywords, and compete for the same buyers in the same search results.
What actually works is changing the product for a new niche. Buy a seasonal bundle, like a coquette Christmas kit, and turn it into something different, like dark academia, cottagecore, or Amalfi Coast style.
That way, you target the new keywords, reach a new buyer, and show up in different searches. You are no longer competing with dozens of sellers selling the exact same thing and competing on price.
Why Buy Master Resell Rights Products Instead of Creating From Scratch?
But you may ask, why buy MRR in the first place? Wouldn’t it be better to create a product from scratch?
In my opinion, buying MRR from a seller who allows editing and rebranding can save you a lot of time. Instead of creating a product from scratch, you can use that time to market your shop, find customers, or enjoy your free time.
Even I rebrand my own products because I want to save time. Why start from zero when the basic layout is already done?
You can test new ideas faster, learn what your customers want, target different transactional intent keywords, grow your niche authority, and get traffic and sales sooner.
You can also change more than just the colors. For example, you can turn Instagram templates into email marketing templates for a different type of customer. The basic design is already done. You are simply changing it for a new audience.
Why buy from me instead of another MRR shop
Many MRR shops sell products that have already been sold many times, and as a buyer, it can be hard to know what you are getting. You may not know who created the product, where it came from, or if the seller has permission to sell it. Without this information, it can be harder to choose a quality product with the right license.
Everything in my shop is created by me from scratch, organized into clear collections, and designed around current trends and styles. If you decide to rebrand a product (which is recommended, but not required), you are starting with something that already has a strong design and direction. Each product has a clear source and license, so you can feel confident knowing you are working with products that are organized and made with care.
The licensing is simple: you can resell, rebrand, or use the products for yourself. You can read the full licensing terms in the FAQ. The only things you cannot use are my website copy, listing images, or marketing materials. The product itself is yours to customize and make your own.
What’s actually in my shop right now
My shop includes Canva templates, eBooks, branding kits, stock photos, and marketing templates.
Also, my Christmas coquette collection is a good example of a product made for rebranding. It looks festive now, but you can easily change the graphics and create a completely different style. The layouts, fonts, and structure already give you a strong foundation to work with.
Look at my own blog, for example. I use my templates from my Christmas coquette collection all the time, but you probably would not even notice because I keep rebranding them.
Master Resell Rights Products by Gabi Digital Products
FAQ
Are master resell rights legal?
Yes. MRR is based on a license agreement. You just need to follow the creator’s terms. Check what you can edit, whether you can pass on resell rights, and what you cannot use, such as their listing images or marketing copy. When you follow the license terms, you can confidently resell the product.
What can I sell with master resell rights?
Use the product in whatever way the license allows. This may mean selling it as-is, editing it, or fully rebranding it into a new style or niche. My recommendation: do not simply relist the same product with the same keywords as the seller you bought it from. Instead, change the style, target a different audience, or use different keywords so you are not competing with everyone selling the same file.
What are MRR products?
Master resell rights products include templates, eBooks, social media kits, stock photos, and other digital files. They come with a license that allows buyers to resell them and keep the profit they make. Quality can vary a lot between sellers, so it is important to check who created the product before buying.
What is MRR and PLR?
Both are resale licenses, but they have different rules. MRR usually lets you resell a product and, in some cases, pass resell rights to your customers. Some MRR products also allow you to edit and rebrand them, but this depends on the creator’s license terms. PLR usually gives you more freedom to edit, change, and rebrand the product, but it does not usually allow you to pass resell rights to your customers. Neither one is better for everyone. It depends on your goal. For a deeper breakdown of both licenses, check out my complete guide to PLR and MRR digital products.
